Giant missionary grass

Axonopus catharinensis (Valls cv. SCS 315)

This forage species is native to the state of Santa Catarina. It appeared in the properties of Alto Vale do Itajaí from the natural cross between the missionary grass (Axonopus jesuiticus) and the carpet grass (Axonopus scoparius). It is reproduced via vegetative reproduction only, through seedlings, its planting is recommended between the months of September and March, varying from region to region.
